Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview for Week 12
Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview
The final game on the Week 12 slate for the National Football League is the Chicago Bears on the road at the Minnesota Vikings. The Chicago Bears are no longer the monsters of the midway, as they have struggled this season. The Bears are 3-8 on the season, which is last place in the NFC North.
For Minnesota, despite the injuries that have hampered their team, they are 6-5 on the season. Minnesota sits in second place in the division. They are coming off a tough loss on the road at the Denver Broncos in their last meeting.
The Minnesota Vikings are favored to win this game. Minnesota is listed at -3.5, and the total is at 43.5.
Jefferson Set to Return
The good news for the Minnesota Vikings is Justin Jefferson is likely to return in this game. Jefferson will be without his quarterback Kirk Cousins, who will miss the rest of the season. The receiver though will be the top target for Joshua Dobbs in this one. Before his injury, Jefferson caught 36 passes for 571 yards and 3 touchdowns over 5 games.
TJ Hockenson and Jordan Addison have taken over as the top targets. They have nearly 1,400 receiving yards combined, and 11 touchdowns. The passing game has had to make up for the inability to run the football effectively. Alexander Mattison, Ty Chandler and Cam Akers have combined for over 200 carries, and have just two rushing touchdowns.
The Vikings will take their bye week following this game. After the bye, the VIkings have five games remaining. Minnesota is at Las Vegas and Cincinnati, and then will come home and take on the Lions and Packers, before finishing on the road at Detroit.
Da Bears are Da Losing
The Chicago Bears are once again at the bottom of the NFC North. Chicago has just three wins on the season; which came over the Commanders, Raiders and Panthers. But, in four out of their last five losses they were within a touchdown. Only the loss at the Chargers was a blowout.
Quarterback Justin Fields is back for the Bears. He rushed for over 100 yards last week, but it came in a losing cause against the Lions. Fields has found DJ Moore early and often this season, as he needs just 111 more yards receiving to get to 1,000 on the season.
Chicago also has their bye next week. The Bears have a home game against Detroit, and then will visit Cleveland. The final three games for Chicago are at home against Arizona, Atlanta and then on the road at the Green Bay Packers.
Bears Cover; Vikings Win
This should be an interesting game between these two long-time rivals. THe Bears have Justin Fields back and seem to be competitive in their games. But, the Bears do not have a ton of incentive to win these games, as they are pretty much eliminated from postseason play, or at least in that direction to be.
The Bears will compete here, but much like last week, we do not expect them to win this game. But, they will cover the 3.5 point spread. Minnesota gets a much needed win late in this game. Take the Minnesota Vikings on the moneyline to win straight up, but the bet goes to the Chicago Bears at +3.5.
