Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview

Two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference will battle it out Wednesday night as the Chicago Bulls (6-1) square off with the Philadelphia 76ers (5-2). The 76ers will host this one at the Wells Fargo Center, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 pm ET.

The Bulls come into this one having won two games in a row, including a 128-114 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. The Bulls were able to pull out the victory despite being down by as many as 19 points.

In the win, DeMar DeRozan led all scorers with 37 points. Zach LaVine added 26 points and seven assists.

The 76ers have all been playing good ball, winning three in a row. Philadelphia took down the Trail Blazers at home on Tuesday 113-103.

Seth Curry led the way for the 76ers in the victory with 23 points. Andre Drummond was three assists shy of a triple-double as he had 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Philadelphia is the favorite playing at home. They are -120 to win while the Bulls’ moneyline sits at +102. The spread features Chicago +1.5.

More Odds

Currently, the 76ers have the fourth-best odds of winning the Eastern Conference this year at +950. The Bulls have the fifth-best odds at +1800.

In terms of winning the NBA Finals, the 76ers are +2000 while the Bulls are +4200.

By The Numbers

Offensively, the Bulls rank 14th in the NBA in scoring, averaging 109.7 points per game. The 76ers sit in seventh averaging 112.1 points.

The Bulls have the edge on the defensive side. They currently rank fifth in scoring defense, allowing just 101 points per game to opponents. Philadelphia ranks 10th, allowing 103.6 points.

Bulls Trying To Take The East By Storm

One of the most active teams in the NBA this past offseason was the Chicago Bulls, as they overhauled a roster with stars like Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and even fan-favorite Alex Caruso. Thus far, the overhaul has been working.

With the new faces, coupled with players like Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, the Bulls have gotten off to a strong start and look like serious contenders in a solid Eastern Conference.

Leading the way offensively for the team thus far is LaVine and DeRozan. LaVine is averaging 25.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. Not to be outdone, DeRozan is also averaging 25.6 points to go along with 5.7 rebounds and four assists.

The others have also done their part as the Bulls have received significant contributions from Vucevic (15.1 points, 10.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists), Ball (12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.9 steals), and Caruso (8.3 points, 3.9 assists, 2.6 steals).

Philadelphia Out To Prove They Are Still One Of East’s Best

Even though there has been some drama surrounding the 76ers with the absence of Ben Simmons from the team, the 76ers are out to prove that they are still one of the top teams in the East.

Leading the way for them is All-Star Joel Embiid. Despite sitting out of their win over the Trail Blazers, Embiid is expected to suit up on Wednesday.

In six games this season, he is averaging 21 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game.

Aside from Embiid, Tobias Harris (19.8 points, nine rebounds, 4.2 assists), Seth Curry (16.4 points, 3.1 rebounds), and Tyrese Maxey (14 points, 3.3 rebounds, four assists) have also been impressive.

If that wasn’t enough, Philadelphia has impressive depth. Frank Korkmaz (10.9 points, 3.3 assists), Georges Niang (10.7 points), and Andre Drummond (6.7 points, ten rebounds) have all played major roles in the 76ers’ early success.

Taking The Bulls To Win On The Road

If you haven’t had an opportunity to watch the Bulls this season, this is a completely different team than the one they trotted on the floor last season. The additions of DeRozan, Ball, and Caruso have not only made them deeper but has taken a lot of the pressure off of Zach LaVine to have to carry the team.

In three games on the road, they are currently undefeated away from the United Center, and they will present a tough matchup for the 76ers.

Granted, Nikola Vucevic will have his hands full with Joel Embiid, but this seems like a game the Bulls can steal on the road.

If nothing else, there is a lot of value in Chicago at +102 on the moneyline.
