Dallas Cowboys at Detroit Lions Betting Preview
There are some interesting matchups around the NFL in week 11, and one of them will take place in Detroit. The Lions will host the Dallas Cowboys in a game that means much more to the visiting team. Dallas is trying to play their way to another NFC East Division title while the Detroit Lions are going to miss the playoffs again this season.
The Cowboys are still leading the NFC East at this point of the season, but they are just 5-4. Dallas has lost two of their last six games, and suffered a week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Detroit got off to a solid start this season, but things are unraveling in a hurry. The Lions are just 3-5-1 on the season, and have lost two straight games. Dallas is a -4.5 point favorite over Detroit in this week 11 showdown.
Lions Will Need Some Offense
If the Detroit Lions are going to pull off this upset at home, then they will have to find a way to score some points. Playing without quarterback Matthew Stafford will hurt their chances, and they managed just 13 points a week ago. Detroit is averaging just 90 rushing yards per game, and running back Kerryon Johnson will also be out of the lineup. The Lions will have to find a way to score to take some pressure off of their defense.
Detroit’s defense has been an issue over the last few seasons, and it hasn’t approved this year. The Lions are allowing over 26 points per game, and they are facing a terrific offense in this game. Detroit’s defense has racked up 19 sacks so far this season, and that kind of pressure could keep them in the game.
Cowboys Defense Has to Be Better
If the Dallas Cowboys are going to stay in first place in the division then their defense is going to have to be better. The Cowboys have given up just 19 points per game this season, but gave up 28 points a week ago. Dallas has dealt with some injury on the defensive side of the ball, but they are still terrific up front. The Cowboys have 23 sacks, and they will turn up the pressure on whoever is starting at QB for the Lions.
The Cowboys are averaging 27.9 points per game, but a lot of that production came against the bad teams on their schedule. Dallas will be facing another bad team in this game, and that should yield to a big offensive day. Quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown for close to 2,800 yards, but the Cowboys need him to take care of the ball. The Cowboys have a ton of weapons, and they need to use them.
Cowboys Get Blow Out Road Win
With or without Matthew Stafford, the Detroit Lions are not even close to having as much talent as the Cowboys. The Lions have dealt with a ton of injuries this season, and their defense has been a mess. Dallas has one of the most talented offensive units in football, but they have struggled to score in the red zone. The Cowboys have struggled to find consistency, but their talent along will carry them in this game. Bet the Dallas Cowboys -4.5 over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
