Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Clippers Betting Preview
The Dallas Mavericks are on the road at the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday for Game 2 of the best of seven series. The Los Angeles Clippers won the first game of the series on Sunday. Dallas is the fifth seed in the Western Conference. The Mavericks won 50 games during the regular season, but dropped their final two. The Mavericks will look to even up the series before heading home.
For the Clippers, they are the fourth seed in the West. The Clippers also stumbled a bit down the stretch, as they lost three straight. The Clippers eventually finished with a 51-31 record on the season. The Clippers played Game 1 without the services of Kawhi Leonard.
The Los Angeles Clippers are -2.5 in this game at home over the Dallas Mavericks. The total for this game is set at 218.5.
Dallas Look to Bounce Back
Luka Doncic played 42 minutes, and scored 33 points, in a losing effort. The Mavericks know they need to get more from the rest of their guys not named Kyrie Irving. Irving went for 31 and 7 in the game as well. Derrick Jones was the starting forward for Dallas, and did not score in this game.
During the regular season, Doncic was the leading scorer in the league. He took over that spot when Joel Embiid missed two months of the season. Luka played in 70 games and scored 34 points per game, dishing out 9.8 assists, and ripping down 9.2 rebounds per game.
Irving was next for Dallas. The former Duke point guard scored 25.6 points per game, dished out 5.2 assists and ripped down 5 rebounds per game. The Mavericks as a team finished 7th in the league at 117.9 points per game. Dallas made just shy of 15 three point shots per game as well.
Super Team Clippers
The Clippers formed the “super team” with a big four in Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Leonard did not play in the game 1 win, but the other three were strong. Harden led the way with 22 points, while George was second with 22. Ivica Zubac had a big game with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
Los Angeles ranked right near the middle of the pack in scoring this season. They scored just shy of 116 points per game. The Clippers were 6th in field goal percentage, at just shy of 49%. Los Angeles also made nearly 13 three point shots per game.
In the three losses to finish the season, the Clippers scored less than 110. If the Clippers get to 110+ they are nearly unbeatable. That will be their goal in this one, as they have lost just twice in the last two months scoring 110 or more.
Dallas Clips Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are going to have a great battle here. Both these teams can win this series. No team on the road won during the first two days of the postseason. That is going to change in the next two days.
That will change with this game. Expect a monster game from Luka Doncic. We like the Mavericks to win this game against a Clippers team that is up and down. The final bet for this game is the Dallas Mavericks +2.5 over the Los Angeles Clippers, and also the moneyline at +125!
Enjoy the game and best of luck with all your National Basketball Association betting throughout the postseason!
