Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns Game 4 Betting Preview

Phoenix and Denver will continue their battle on Sunday in a series where the home team has come out winning the first three contests.

Denver looked like they were unstoppable after shutting Phoenix’s defense down in the second game, but Game 3 of the series showed that statement to be far from true.

As soon as Chris Paul went down was when the Suns decided to finally show up for the series and to just put the ball in the hands of Devin Booker.

He poured in 47 in that last game, the alpha on the team, even ahead of Kevin Durant. He hit all but two shots from inside the arc and remained unstoppable. Denver got a wild 30-17-17 game from Nikola Jokic, but even that was not enough to get them a victory.

Perhaps for Game 4, they will go a bit deeper into the bench in order to find their new energy source. This is a must-win for Phoenix.

Denver Seeking 3-1 Lead

The last time a 3-1 lead was involved in a Denver Nuggets playoff series, it was all good. A few seasons back, they made two comebacks from 3-1 holes to win and find their way to a conference finals. But this time around, they will surely need a lead like such in order to feel safe. Getting a victory in this game would all but guarantee them a trip to round two and a chance to take on the winner of the incredible Lakers vs. Warriors series.

As great as Jokic and Jamal Murray played in the last game, the team obviously still fell short. They didn’t have enough to get it done because they simply could not get enough stops. Torrey Craig and Josh Okogie combined for just 13 minutes as Terrence Ross and TJ Warren finally joined the rotation. The team defensively couldn’t keep them from having an impact, and so an L formed.

They absolutely need this one.

Phoenix Shooting for the Sky

A victory at home for the Suns would surely make the series interesting. A great basketball team that has star players leading the way, they look better. Jock Landale took over for Bismack Biyombo in the backup center role and provided the energy they had been missing. Without CP3, they are best off letting Devin Booker play the role of point guard to have the ball in his hands more often than not. Especially after a tough Cam Payne performance.

They may not have as much firepower as their opponents, but their two stars combined can take on any team in the league. If the Suns can continue to hold on to home court and force Denver to win again at Ball Arena, this series could become something else. They will need to be at their best, though, with Jokic and co. feeling like a change was needed after the last loss.

Phoenix Falls Into Deeper Hole

Game 4 will belong to Denver. Jokic is ready to dominate again but will pick his spots a little better. The defense is going to step up, and Booker is due to come down to earth.

Pick: DEN +120
