Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints Betting Preview

The Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints are set to play Sunday Night in the National Football League’s preseason finale. These two teams will meet up at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The Houston Texans come into this game with one win and a loss so far in preseason play.

Houston started preseason play with a win over the New England Patriots 20-9. Last week was not a good result, as the Miami Dolphins blasted them 28-3. The Texans are projected as one of the worst teams in all of the NFL this season, along with Arizona and Indianapolis.

For the New Orleans Saints, they are looking to close out a 3-0 preseason slate. The Saints have wins over the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers.

The New Orleans Saints are -3 in this game, with a total listed at 38. The moneyline for this game shows the Houston Texans at +136 and the New Orleans Saints at -162.

Saints in 2023 Are Ready to Go

Jameis Winston is still in the league and has been getting preseason time for the Saints. But Winston is the backup this season in New Orleans.

Dennis Allen is going with Derek Carr as the starting quarterback. Carr will hopefully be able to use a healthy Michael Thomas and Chris Olave, who is starting his second season in the league, to push it down field.

The Saints will be without Alvin Kamara for the first three games this season due to a suspension. New Orleans brought Jamaal Williams over from Detroit, so he should fill the void, with rookie Kendre Miller next on the list.

New Orleans will start the regular season on September 10th at home against the Tennessee Titans.

Houston Looking Young on the Offense

The Houston Texans are going to be young on the offensive side. The Texans are going to start C.J. Stroud at quarterback. Stroud was strong at Ohio State, but it is yet to be seen how that will convert to the NFL.

Another youngster, Nathaniel Dell, has been solid in the preseason. It will be interesting to see how much time he gets. The receiver played his college football at the University of Houston. He has a touchdown on five catches this preseason.

Other weapons for Stroud in Houston will be veterans Robert Woods and Noah Brown, along with Nico Collins. The Texans brought Dalton Schultz over from the Cowboys to be the starting tight end. The running game will be led by Dameon Pierce, but do not be surprised if Devin Singletary gets in the mix.

Houston starts the 2023 regular season on the road at the Baltimore Ravens in Week One. Following that game, the Texans play two divisional games. Houston is at home against the Colts in Week Two, and on the road at the Jaguars in Week 3.

The Saints Smack Houston on Sunday

The New Orleans Saints look good in preseason play. The Saints look ready for the start of the National Football League regular season to start. New Orleans has a fast and athletic offense and a defense that is ready to make plays.

This game is the final preseason game and on national TV. Fans in New Orleans are hungry for their Saints to get back on the field and also be one of the better teams in the league. This team has a chance to do that.

This game is not going to be competitive. The Saints are going to smack the Texans across the field. Bet the New Orleans Saints -3 over the Houston Texans on Sunday.
