Indianapolis Colts vs. San Francisco 49ers

Two teams desperately in need of a Week 7 win will square off for Sunday Night Football as the Indianapolis Colts (2-4) square off with the San Francisco 49ers (2-3). The 49ers will host this one from Levi’s Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 8:20 pm ET.

Despite being 2-4, the Colts are in second place in the AFC South, but they also sit two games behind the Titans. As a result, they will fight to pick up the road win Sunday night.

After losing a tough overtime contest to the Ravens two weeks ago, the Colts bounced back with a 31-3 win over the Texans last week. In the win, Carson Wentz threw for 223 yards and two scores. Jonathan Taylor had a huge game on the ground rushing for 145 yards and another two scores.

After losing three games in a row, the 49ers enjoyed a bye week last week, and they will look to reset in Week 7.

They dropped their last game in Week 5 to the Arizona Cardinals 17-10. In the loss, rookie Trey Lance threw for 192 yards and an interception. He also rushed 16 times for 89 yards.

The 49ers are the favorites playing at home Sunday night. They are -215 to win while the Colts’ Moneyline sits at +176. The spread features Indianapolis +4.5 (-115), and the over/under for total points is 42.5.

More Odds

Indianapolis currently has the second-best odds of winning the AFC South at +370. The 49ers are +1100 to win a loaded NFC West.

In terms of the Super Bowl, the 49ers are +4500 to win it all. The Colts are +10000 to win Super Bowl LVI.

By The Numbers

Against the 49ers, the Colts are 5-2 against the spread over their last seven games. In their last seven games against teams in the NFC, they are 6-1 against the spread.

Surprisingly, the 49ers have struggled at Levi’s Stadium recently. In fact, they are winless in their last six home games. In their last five games overall, they are 1-4 against the spread.

Colts Look For Big Road Win

Trying to keep pace with the Titans in the division, quarterback Carson Wentz and the Colts will look to improve on their 1-2 road record.

Speaking of Wentz, the veteran quarterback has thrown for 1,545 yards, nine touchdowns, and just one interception in six games.

His leading receiver has been Michael Pittman Jr., who has 31 receptions for 403 yards and a touchdown.

One of the biggest threats, though, is running back Jonathan Taylor. On the ground, he has rushed 87 times for 472 yards and four touchdowns. Through the air, he has 15 receptions for 210 yards and another score.

Defensively, the Colts rank 11th in scoring defense allowing 21.8 points per game to opponents (24.3 on the road).

49ers Trying To Snap Winless Streak

With games against the Packers, Seahawks, and Cardinals, the 49ers certainly had a rough stretch of football prior to their bye week. Trying to come out refreshed after a week off, the 49ers will look to get back on track as they host the Colts.

They will also look to pick up their first win at Levi’s Stadium this week. To this point, they are 0-2 at home.

After going with Trey Lance recently, the 49ers will go back to veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo this week. In four games this season, he has thrown for 925 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The 49ers’ best receiver to date has been Deebo Samuel. In five games, he has 31 receptions for 548 yards and three touchdowns.

Defensively, the 49ers rank 16th in scoring defense allowing 23.8 points per game (29 at home).

Take The Colts And The Points

This primetime matchup features two teams who have largely disappointed this season. While both have shown flashes of excellence, neither has been able to do enough to put themselves in positions to win.

San Francisco was certainly struggling prior to their bye last week, so it will be interesting to see how they come out after the break.

Regardless, this is a game either team could pull out. With so much uncertainty, taking the points may be the best bet.

In this case, that means taking Indianapolis +4.5.
