Kentucky Wildcats at Mississippi State Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Kentucky Wildcats are on the road at the Mississippi State Bulldogs. This is a big game for both teams, as they are trying to position themselves not only for the SEC tournament, but also the NCAA Tournament. Both teams are looking to win their 20th game of the season.

Kentucky is 19-8 on the season and 9-5 in league play. The Wildcats scored a season high 117 points in the win Saturday at home over Alabama. The Wildcats are 5-5 over their last 10 games. Kentucky is tied with Florida for fifth in the SEC. Kentucky beat the Bulldogs the last time they met. That was on January 17th in Lexington. The Wildcats won that game by 13.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are small favorites here. The Bulldogs are -2.5 over Kentucky.

Kentucky Looking to D Up

The defense has not quite been there for the Kentucky Wildcats as of late. They allowed 89 to Gonzaga, and 95 to Alabama. In the other three games, they picked it up a bit allowing 63, 59 and 74. On the offensive end, the Wildcats are one of the most lethal teams in the nation. Kentucky is scoring 88.7 points per game.

The leader of the pack for Kentucky  has been Antonio Reeves. Reeves is at just shy of 20 points per game. Rob Dillingham is second on the team with 15 points per game, while Tre Mitchell, who did not play Saturday, is third with 12 points per game. He is questionable for this game.

Kentucky has three games remaining in March. The Wildcats will take on Arkansas and Vanderbilt at home, and then go on the road to Tennessee to end the regular season.

Bulldogs Seeking Sixth Straight

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are surging. The Bulldogs lost their first game in February at Alabama, and have won five straight since then. In the loss to Alabama, they allowed 99 points. Since that loss, they have not allowed more than 71 in the five games played.

The offense for the Bulldogs has been fairly hit or miss this season. Mississippi State is scoring 74.9 points per game. The Bulldogs are one of the top rebound teams in the country as well with 36.1 per game. The top scorer this season for Mississippi State has been Tolu Smith. Smith has scored 13 or more in five of his last six games, including 24 in the win over Ole Miss.

The Bulldogs will finish the regular season at Auburn, at Texas A+M and then at home against the Gamecocks of South Carolina.

Wildcats Top Bulldogs

The Kentucky Wildcats would love nothing more than to continue their offensive attack and win another big time game here. Coach Calipari kind of got beat up earlier in the season, and he is hoping to get his kids ready to go when it matters the most.

Look for Kentucky to battle here, and actually go on the road and pick up a massive win. When we go to bet on this game, we are going to take the Kentucky Wildcats +128 on the moneyline over the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Tuesday.
