After losing to Liberty last week, Missouri bounced back with a big 72-44 win over Eastern IL on Tuesday. In the win, the Tigers had four players score in double figures, including Amari Davis, who had 15 points and six rebounds.

By The Numbers

Kansas has been one of the best offensive teams in the nation this season. They rank 10th in scoring averaging 84.5 points per game. Missouri ranks 289th, averaging 63.5 points per game.

Defensively, it is Missouri with the edge. They rank 73rd in scoring defense, allowing opponents just 64 points per game (74 on the road). The Jayhawks rank 128th allowing 67.3 points per game (57.7 at home).

Missouri Looking For Major Road Upset

At just 5-4, the Missouri Tigers would love to get a major road upset over the highly ranked Jayhawks and get their first road win in the process.

Leading the way for head coach Cuonzo Martin’s team is junior forward Kobe Brown. On the season, he is averaging 14.8 points on 53.8% shooting. He is also averaging 9.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, two steals, and a block per game.

The only other double-digit scorer is guard Amari Davis. He is averaging 11.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Other contributors include Ronnie DeGray III (9.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals), Dajuan Gordon (8.5 points, five rebounds, 1.5 steals), and Javon Pickett (8.2 points).

Kansas Looks To Stay Perfect At Home

After being upset by Dayton earlier in the season, the Jayhawks know they can’t take anyone for granted. Especially playing at home, where they are currently 2-0, they hope to prove they are the far superior team.

Senior guard Ochai Agbaji has been sensational in the early going for Kansas. In eight games, he is averaging 22.6 points on 57.4% shooting. He is also pulling down 4.1 rebounds per game.

Christian Braun has also been solid in the early going. Shooting 62.8% from the field, he is averaging 16.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and a block per game.

Aside from these two, Remy Martin (10.5 points, 4.6 rebounds) and David McCormack (9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.8 blocks) have also been solid through the first eight games.

Take Kansas To Win And Cover

It is never easy to bank on a team by winning by over 20 points, but that is something that Kansas has become accustomed to.

In fact, their two home wins this season have been by an average of 27.5 points. On the season, they have won half of their games by 20 or more.

It is still a big ask for Kansas to cover the 22.5 points, but they have the far superior team in this one, and they should get a boost by playing on their home court.

Take Kansas to both win and cover.
