Ole Miss Rebels at Auburn Tigers Betting Preview

Saturday night will feature a battle of top-25 SEC West teams as the No. 10 Ole Miss Rebels (6-1, 3-1 in conference) take on the No. 18 Auburn Tigers (5-2, 2-1 in forum). The Tigers will host this one at Jordan-Hare Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 pm ET.

Since dropping their lone loss to Alabama on October 2, the Rebels have put together three wins in a row, including a 31-17 victory over LSU last week. In that win, Matt Corral threw for 186 yards and a touchdown while rushing for another score.

For Auburn, they were able to take down Arkansas last week 38-23. Bo Nix threw for 292 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the victory. Nix also rushed for 42 yards and a score on five carries.

Auburn is the slight favorite playing at home. They are -148 to win while the Rebels’ Moneyline sits at +120. The spread features Ole Miss +2.5 (-102), and the over/under for total points is 66.5.

More Odds

Ole Miss and Auburn are currently tied for the third-best odds of winning the SEC championship this season at +5000. They trail only Georgia (-150) and Alabama (+110).

In terms of the National Championship, the Rebels have the better odds to win it all at +10000. The Tigers are just +50000 to win it.

By The Numbers

In their last eight games, the Rebels are an impressive 7-1 overall. They are 0-5 in their previous five contests and 1-6 in their last seven games against Auburn on the road.

One thing to note between these two teams, the under has hit four times in their last six meetings. At home, Auburn is a solid 14-3 in their previous 17 games at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Rebels Look To Offense To Take Down Conference Foe

The Rebels will certainly have their hands full this weekend with Auburn, but head coach Lane Kiffin will look to Matt Corral and the offense to take care of business. The Rebels’ offense currently ranks ninth in the nation, averaging 39.8 points per game (31.7 on the road).

Speaking of Corral, he has thrown for 1,913 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just one interception this season. He has also been deadly with his feet as he has rushed for a team-high 474 yards and another nine scores.

It is worth noting that Corral has been dealing with a bit of an ankle injury, which limited his rushing attack a bit last week.

Through the air, Corral’s favorite target is senior wide receiver, Dontario Drummond. On the year, he has 36 receptions for 619 yards and six touchdowns.

Ole Miss ranks 83rd in scoring defense, allowing 30.2 points per game.

Auburn Looks To Use Bye To Their Advantage

With back-to-back tough games against No. 1 Georgia and Arkansas, the Tigers were able to breathe a little bit as they enjoyed their bye week last week. That could be good news for Auburn fans, as they are 9-1 in their last ten games following a bye.

Leading the way for Auburn is junior quarterback Bo Nix. This season, he has thrown for 1,488 yards, eight touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He has also rushed 40 times for 159 yards and another two scores.

The Tigers’ most lethal weapon on the ground is Tank Bigsby. This season, he has rushed 102 times for 526 yards and six touchdowns.

Auburn’s defense currently ranks 41st in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 23 points per game.

Taking The Tigers To Win At Home

This one is a tough one to gauge. If Matt Corral’s ankle is entirely healthy, that would be a gamechanger. Limited to just 12 rushes last week, though, there is certainly some question about how well it is healed.

It comes down to how well the Tigers have played following bye weeks and how poorly Ole Miss has been on the road lately. In fact, in their last 12 road games, the Rebels have lost nine of them.

While this should be a close one throughout, take Auburn to win at home.
