By The Numbers
Against Green Bay, the Steelers have had some success as they are 5-1 in their last six games. They are 1-4 overall in their last five, though.
In their last 17 games, the Packers are 15-2 straight up. In their last 14 games against the AFC, Green Bay is 10-4 against the spread.
Pittsburgh Trying To Find Their Way
Unfortunately, it has been a pretty rough start to the Steelers’ season, and the offense definitely deserves a lot of the blame. To date, they rank 28th in the NFL in scoring averaging just 16.7 points per game.
Ben Roethlisberger, the 39-year-old veteran, is starting to look old. He has thrown for 801 yards, three touchdowns, three interceptions, and has been sacked eight times.
There was some concern that he could be without receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) and Diontae Johnson (knee), but they both practiced in full on Friday. For Chase Claypool (hamstring), he is still questionable for Sunday’s matchup.
On the ground, Najee Harris leads the way with 123 yards rushing and 149 yards receiving. He has one touchdown reception thus far.
Defensively, the Steelers rank 12th in scoring defense, allowing opponents just 22 points per game.
Packers Continue To Build Momentum
After Week 1 of the season, the Packers team looked almost as disastrous as their offseason. For the last two weeks, though, all seems right in Green Bay.
After clashing with the organization in the offseason, quarterback Aaron Rodgers appears to have regained form. On the season, he has thrown for 649 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Davante Adams continues to be his go-to target. Thus far, he has 25 receptions for 309 yards and a touchdown.
On the ground, Aaron Jones has gotten off to a nice start. He has 158 yards rushing and two touchdowns while also adding 75 yards receiving and another score.
The Packers rank 24th in scoring defense, allowing 27.7 points per game.
Take Green Bay To Win And Cover
Over the last two weeks, these look like two teams going in very different directions. The Steelers have an aging quarterback that is looking the part with no clear backup in sight.
For the Packers, they seemed to have regained their form and have gotten back to playing football after a difficult offseason.
Especially playing at Lambeau Field, expect the Packers to come out strong in this one.
Take Green Bay to both win and cover the 6.5-point spread.
