New Quarterback Under Center for Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders will feature a new quarterback under center this season. Jimmy Garoppolo in his first season with the Raiders will get his first preseason action against his old team. Backing up Garoppolo is Brian Hoyer, Aidan O’Connell and Chase Garbers. The Raiders are looking for another big season out of Josh Jacobs. There was worries of him holding out after winning the rushing title a season ago, and so far he has remains out.

Ameer Abdullah, Zamir White and Brandon Bolen will get opportunities to take over the running back role. As if that was not enough, there has been talk about top receiver Davante Adams requesting a trade out of Vegas, and he also left practice this week with a leg injury.

The Raiders are projected to finish fourth in the AFC West. They will have to play quite the underdog role if they want a chance to win the division. The Raiders start their season with back to back road games. Las Vegas is at Denver, and then on the road at Buffalo to start the season. Following that, the Raiders finally come home to take on the Steelers.

49ers Looking to Take Another Step Forward

After reaching the NFC title game a season ago, they are looking to take a step forward and get to the Super Bowl this season. Many around San Francisco are looking at Super Bowl or bust. The 49ers come into the season with a little bit of a quarterback controversy, with Brock Purdy returning to healthy status, and Trey Lance being the guy the organization wants.

A season ago, the 49ers got 746 on the ground from Christian McCaffrey following his trade over from Carolina. He also picked up nearly 500 yards via the pass game. There is no doubt McCaffrey should be in for a big season. Alongside him are threats Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle.

San Francisco also starts the regular season with back to back road games. The 49ers are at the Pittsburgh Steelers, and then on the road at the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers then get three home games as they will host the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. Weeks 6 and 7 are at Cleveland and Minnesota.

Raiders Win in Front of Home Fans

It’s preseason, so no reason to get alarmed by too much here. It’s the first game of the preseason as well. It’s at Allegiant Stadium, one of the nicest, well put together home fields in the National Football League. This should be a fun game, but look for the Raiders to put a little more forward in this game, and show a little bit more. The Raiders win this game. Bet the Las Vegas Raiders +4 and consider taking them moneyline at +150 as well.
