San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview

Sunday afternoon features a battle of NFC West rivals as the San Francisco 49ers (3-4) take on the Los Angeles Rams (3-3). The Rams will host this one at SoFi Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:25 pm ET.

This will be a rematch from Week 4, when San Francisco won 24-9 at home. In the win, Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 239 yards and a touchdown. In the loss, Matthew Stafford threw for 254 yards and an interception.

The 49ers are the favorites in this one despite playing on the road. They are -116 to win, while the Rams’ moneyline sits at -102. The spread features Los Angeles +1 (-110), and the over/under for total points is 41.5.

49ers Look For Road Win Without Star

At 3-4, the 49ers sit tied with the Rams and the Arizona Cardinals, and they sit just one game behind the Seattle Seahawks. With the NFC West so tightly bunched, Sunday could be a crucial game for both sides.

Unfortunately for 49ers’ fans, they will be without one of their stars in Deebo Samuel. He was ruled out on Friday as a result of a hamstring injury that has sidelined him all week.

This season, Deebo has 32 receptions for 387 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 24 rushes for 138 yards and another score.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will have a little more pressure on him to produce without Samuel. In six games this NFL season, he has thrown for 1,456 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions.

On the ground, Jeff Wilson Jr leads the way. He has rushed 88 times for 454 yards and two scores.

Defensively, the 49ers rank ninth in scoring defense, allowing just 19 points per game to opponents (18.3 on the road).

The 49ers have lost back-to-back games coming into this one and will look to avoid a third in a row.

Rams Look To Come Out Strong Out Of Bye

After losing two of their last three games, the Los Angeles Rams were able to pick up a win in their last contest against the Carolina Panthers. Now coming off of their bye, the Rams will look to regroup and avenge an earlier loss to the 49ers.

Under center for L.A. will be veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford. This season, Stafford has thrown for 1,576 yards, six touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

Stafford’s favorite target thus far has been Cooper Kupp. In six games, he has 56 receptions for 507 yards and four touchdowns.

On the ground, Darrell Henderson Jr leads the rushing attack. In his last game, against Carolina, he rushed 12 times for 43 yards and a touchdown. The Rams’ defense has been just average this season. They rank 16th in scoring defense, allowing 21 points per game (22.5 at home).

The defending Super Bowl champions have seemingly suffered quite the championship hangover this season. Still, sitting just one game out of the division, the Rams hope that the bye week can get them back on track.

Take The Rams At Home

This one is a tough one to call. In recent years, the 49ers have practically owned the Rams. They are 7-1 in their last eight matchups and 6-0 against the spread in their last six.

Still, there are a couple of variables at play here that favor L.A. While the 49ers lost one of their playmakers in Samuel; the Rams are getting one back as Van Jefferson Jr is probable for Sunday’s contest.

Also, Sean McVay has done well in his coaching career after a bye. In fact, he is 4-2 both against the spread and straight up when following an off week.

This one could truly go either way, but there is a lot of sports betting value in the Rams in this one. Take the Rams to win straight up at -102.
