San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview

National League West rivals will mix it up on Saturday in the middle game of a three-game series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium. Los Angeles blew an early lead and lost in extra innings on Friday. The loss for the Dodgers dropped them to 39-31 on the season.

The win for the Giants pushed them to 37-32 on the season and 19-15 away from home. Both teams are chasing the Arizona Diamondbacks in the divisional race. The odds for this game on Saturday see the Dodgers listed at -148, with a total of 8.5.

Dodgers Looking to Catch Arizona

The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to catch Arizona at the top of the division. Los Angeles has now played 70 games, and they know they have a great opportunity in the final 90+ games of the season.

But, before they do that – they have to fix what failed them on Friday – their bullpen. The Dodgers have the best run differential in the National League West, second only to Atlanta in all of the National League.

Bobby Miller is going to get the start for the Dodgers in this one. The 24-year-old has gone 3-0 this season and a 0.78 earned run average. Miller has struck out 23 batters in 23 innings this season. In his last start against the Phillies, he went six innings and allowed just three hits and no runs. He has not allowed a run since May 29th.

The Dodgers’ hitting has been getting the job done most of the season, led by veteran Freddie Freeman. Freeman helped the Dodgers beat the White Sox on Thursday and leads the team with a .328 batting average. JD Martinez has been a big-time run producer for the Dodgers, as he has 47 runs batted in.

Giants Looking to Get Back on Track

After a three-game sweep on the road in St. Louis, the Giants rallied again on Friday. The win on Wednesday over St. Louis was anchored by a huge Mike Yastrzemski three-run homerun to send the game to extra innings. In the 10th, the Giants scored three more and won the game.

San Francisco will look to stay hot on Saturday. The Giants scored 23 runs in the three-game series against the Cardinals, and in their last five wins, they have scored a total of 43 runs. Michael Conforto leads the team with 12 home runs and 36 runs batted in. As a team, the Giants are hitting .253 and are 9th in runs scored with 325.

The Giants have yet to name a starting pitcher for this game.

Los Angeles Evens the Series

Even after a tough loss on Friday – there is a lot to like about this Dodgers team. They have the bats, and the young pitching is solid. The bullpen will need to come around, as it has been one of the worst in the league.

Many expect them to help with trades at the deadline and make improvements, and they are one of the teams to beat in the National League. Look for Los Angeles to even this series up. Betting the Dodgers -148 is the way to go here.
