Texas Longhorns at Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Pick
In one of the biggest College Football games of the season, the Texas Longhorns will head to Tuscaloosa and battle the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. In the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Longhorns ranked 11th, while the Crimson Tide are third.
Both teams are coming off a pretty easy Week One win. Alabama topped Middle Tennessee State 56-7, while Texas beat Rice 37-10. This is a rematch of last season when the Crimson Tide topped Texas 20-19.
The Alabama Crimson Tide come into the game -7 over Texas. The total for this game is listed at 54.5 points.
Crimson Tide Loaded Again
Nick Saban has himself another loaded football team. The Crimson Tide continue to load up and are one of the favorites to win the National Championship. But, for Alabama, they will need to go through the SEC – West, and likely Georgia from the SEC – East in the title game—first things first, before a trip to South Florida for Week 3.
In the win in Week One, quarterback Jalen Milroe was brilliant despite not needing to be anything but just good. Milroe tossed for 194 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 48 yards. His top target was Isaiah Bond, who finished the game with five receptions and 76 yards while getting into the end zone.
The defense for the Crimson Tide was impressive, as they held the Blue Raiders to just 133 passing yards while forcing two turnovers in the game.
Longhorns Wrapping up Big 12 Lives
The Texas Longhorns are in their final season in the Big 12 before moving to the SEC. This could be a typical College Football matchup in conference play a season from now. The Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners are favorites to win the Big 12, and both are leaving following this school year.
Texas, led by head coach Steve Sarkisian, threw for 300 yards and rushed for 158 in the win. The Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers picked up 260 passing yards before leaving the game. He also threw for three touchdowns. Xavier Worthy was 10 yards shy of 100 for the game on seven catches.
Worthy did not get into the end zone, though. Jaydon Blue was the top threat on the ground, as he carried the ball ten times and picked up 55 yards. Texas is trying to figure out a rushing offense without Bijan Robinson, who was outstanding last season for the Longhorns.
Texas will return home following this game and take on Wyoming next week. Then, Big 12 season will start as they play at Baylor before hosting Kansas to wrap up the month of September.
Alabama Makes No Doubt
The Alabama Crimson Tide were none too pleased about winning by a single point last season. That Texas Longhorns team, though, was talented and better than this year’s version. Alabama lost some guys but still reloaded and should be able to win this game fairly easily. Expect Alabama to keep a touchdown or more lead and win by 10 points.
We are going to make the bet of Alabama -7 over Texas on Saturday. Our final score prediction for this big College Football game is the Alabama Crimson Tide 34-24 over the Texas Longhorns.
