March Madness will begin in a little bit less than three weeks from now. The brackets will be released on Sunday, March 12th.
Seeding is still up for grabs. However, what are the updated odds to win the National Championship?
Gonzaga +350
This is very interesting that Gonzaga remains the favorites to win it all. They are most likely going to be the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. Even though they lost only two games this year compared to zero in the regular season last year, the Bulldogs continue to steamroll everybody.
Having a freshman like Chet Holmgren and key veteran players like Drew Timme around head coach Mark Few helps a lot.
Kentucky +650
As of right now, they have Kentucky as one of the number one seeds in the NCAA Tournament. They have quietly had a great season up to this point.
If they are not a number one seed, they are a number two seed. However, it feels difficult to comprehend that they are the second favorites to win it all.
Kentucky does have very good players, but I feel like they could be vulnerable to an upset.
Arizona +700
They have been the best team in the PAC-12 this year. This is the best Arizona Wildcats team they have had in quite some time. Arizona can shoot the lights out of the basketball., but their defense could be a concern.
As long as they win their conference, a number one seed will be in their sights.
Auburn +750
Auburn is going to find a way to be a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. The only issue with them come NCAA Tournament time is that they flirt with way too many close games against teams it shouldn’t happen against.
There is a ton of talent on that roster that it wouldn’t be surprising to see them cut down the nets come April.
Purdue +800
Jalen Ivey might be the best player in the country. He is one of those players that can make one of those magical runs.
Purdue is in line to be a number one or a number two seed in the NCAA Tournament. Matt Painter has made this basketball program one of the best in the nation.
This is a basketball team that has the will and the guts to cut down the nets in April.
Duke +1400
The odds are pretty good for Duke to win it all, but they are going to be a big-time risky bet. There is going to be no in-between with this basketball team. They are either going to be bounced early or get to the final four and potentially win it all in Coach K’s final year.
Paolo Banchero is a type of basketball player who can take over an NCAA Tournament.
Kansas +1500
Kansas is another team that has the talent to win it all, and they are probably the best team coming out of the BIG-12 conference. The Jayhawks have had so many heartbreaking moments lately in the NCAA Tournament.
They have been to the final four over the last few years but haven’t cut down the nets since 2008.
Baylor +1600
Baylor won it all last year. They have a good shot to go back-to-back. Scott Drew has a younger team this year, and they have come a very long way.
Junior guard Adam Flagler has been their best player this year in crunch-time situations.
