Joe Cada, at the age of 21, has become the youngest champion of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).  Joe Cada won a little over $8.5 million for beating out the other 6,494 poker players at the 2010 WSOP main event in Las Vegas.

The heads up finish between Joe Cada and Darvin Moon was played out on November 10, 2009 and lasted just under 3 hours.  Darvin Moon is a 46-year-old logger from Oakland, Md. Don’t feel to bad for Darvin, he ended up winning $5.18 million for his second place finish.

Joe Cada will only receive half of his $8.5 million  win though.  Joe had 2 backers that help pay his $10,000 entry fee in exchange for half of any winnings.  This is actually pretty common among poker players.  If Joe Cada wouldn’t of cashed, the backers would receive nothing!  I’m sure he would of paid his entry fees if he knew he was going to win!  $4.25 million is still a nice prize, plus I’m sure he’ll receive a hefty endorsement deal from PokerStars and any new sponsors he may acquire.
