NFL Week 14 Sunday Recap

The National Football League Week 14 Sunday action wrapped up late with the beating the in the massive NFC East tilt. The Dallas Cowboys smacked the Philadelphia Eagles 33-13. The win for the Cowboys moved them to 10-3 on the season, which is now tied with the 49ers and Eagles at the top of the NFC. Dallas forced Philadelphia into three fumbles in the game. The only touchdown of the game for Philadelphia was a strip sack on Dak Prescott returned for a touchdown. It was an ugly performance for the Eagles, and impressive for Dallas.

Let’s take a look at some of the rest of the big results that came out of the action on Sunday in the NFL:

Buffalo Bills 20-17 over Kansas City Chiefs

What a thriller to end the Sunday mid afternoon slate. The Bills used 233 passing yards from Josh Allen, along with a passing touchdown to James Cook, and another rushing touchdown. Cook ended the game with 10 carries for 58 yards as well. Kansas City had a chance late, including scoring a touchdown on a crazy lateral play from Travis Kelce, but it was called back due to a penalty at the line of scrimmage. The win for the Buffalo Bills moved them 7-6 on the season, and in the mix for the AFC wildcard spot. The loss was the second straight for the Chiefs, as they fell to 8-5 on the season. Kansas City is now just a game ahead of Denver in the AFC West.

Baltimore Ravens 37-31 over Los Angeles Rams 

This game needed overtime, and Tylan Wallace returned a punt with 8:07 left to win the game. The punt return was 76 yards, and he avoided several tackles, making it one of the craziest plays of the season. The loss for the Rams came despite a solid game from Matthew Stafford, where he threw for three touchdowns. Kyren Williams was good again for the Rams with 114 yards in the game. Lamar Jackson of Baltimore also threw for three touchdowns in the win. Baltimore is now 10-3, and awaiting the Miami Monday Night Football game to see if they are the top seed or second seed heading into Week 15. The loss for the Rams dropped them to 6-7, and on the outside looking in, within the NFC playoff picture.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 29-25 over Atlanta Falcons

It was a massive win for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road. The Buccaneers and Falcons are now 6-7 on the season, and both have won a head to head game against the other on the road. The win came with Cade Otton scoring a touchdown from Baker Mayfield with less than 1:00 to play in the game. Mayfield finished the game with 144 passing yards, two touchdowns, and also a rushing touchdown. Rachaad White was strong for the Buccaneers, finishing with over 100 yards on the ground. Drake London was the key for Atlanta, with 172 yards on 10 receptions in the loss.

Minnesota Vikings 3-0 over Las Vegas Raiders

It was the lowest scoring game in the National Football League in 16 years. Greg Joseph kicked a field goal with just 2:00 to go in the game to put them ahead and win the game over the Raiders. It was a much needed win for the Vikings, as they moved to 7-6 on the season. The Raiders loss sent them to 5-8 on the season.

Chicago Bears 28-13 over Detroit Lions

Justin Fields marched his Chicago Bears offense all the way down the field to start the game on the first drive, and never looked back. Fields finished the game with 233 passing yards and a touchdown, and also was effective with his legs. The big deal was the Bears defense that forced two interceptions from Jared Goff. The loss dropped Detroit to 9-4, and what looks like will be the third seed in the NFC. The win for Chicago pushed them to 5-8. They are still last in the NFC North, but have now won back to back divisional games.
