Updated Betting Odds to win 2023-2024 NBA Most Valuable Player Award

As Christmas approaches, we start looking at some of the betting odds to win awards around the National Basketball Association. The loudest award, of course, is the Most Valuable Player. There are six guys in the running for this award, with a handful of other guys on the outside looking in. Let’s take a look at the most recent MVP odds in the NBA for 2023-2024:

Nikola Jokic +250

The defending Champion Denver Nuggets have kind of paced themselves out of the gate. While they are dangerous, they do not look to be full speed ahead. That is a little bit how Jokic plays his game. The big man is dominating, there is no doubt, but how much more could he dominate? That’s the million dollar question. The big man from Denver is scoring more than 26 points per game, and ripping down 12.3 rebounds. Jokic is also dishing out 9.4 assists per game as well.

Joel Embiid +350

Embiid won this award a season ago. The big man from Philadelphia is nearly impossible to stop in the paint. Embiid is scoring 34.4 points per game, a full point ahead of the next best. The former Kansas Jayhawks big man is also fifth in the league in rebounds, with 11.8. The 76ers are batting at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, and appear to be a team that will be tough to beat come postseason time. Embiid is runner up odds right now to Jokic.

Luka Doncic +400

Luka is second in the league in scoring, with 33.5 points per game. He is also fourth in the league, with just shy of 10 assists per game. Only Haliburton, Young and Jokic have more assists than he does. Luka has been leading the charge without the assistance of Kyrie Irving, who continues to sit out with an injury. Luka scored 38 in their most recent loss. It’s more of a surprise when the 24 year old guard does NOT score 30 or more in a game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander +750

The 25 year old from Toronto is putting on quite a show in the National Basketball Association. After being drafted 11th overall in the 2018 draft, the former Kentucky Wildcats star is averaging more than 30 points per game. He is the point guard for an Oklahoma City Thunder team that continues to impress. He is dishing out 6.4 assists per game, and is the leader in steals. He is currently averaging 2.8 per game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo +1000

Commonly known as the Greek Freak, he continues to dominate for the Milwaukee Bucks. Recently, he scored just 11 points, but dished out 16 assists and ripped down 11 boards in a win over the Spurs. Whatever his team needs, he takes care of it. The addition of Damian Lillard to join him has been a good one, and could be a complete game changer once the postseason arrives. Antetokounmpo is listed at 10/1 odds.

Jayson Tatum +1800

Tatum is not in the Top 5 in any major offensive stat category, but he is the best player on the best team in the Eastern Conference.  The 25 year old from St. Louis is continuing to emerge as  lethal threat all over the court. The 6’8 forward is playing nearly 37 minutes per game and enjoying his first season with Kristaps Porzings as his running mate.

Others in Consideration:

  • Tyrese Hailburton +2000
  • Kevin Durant +2500
  • De’Aaron Fox +3000
  • Devin Booker +3500

That is a look at your Top 10 as we head into the New Year. It will be interesting to see how these odds change as the games go along. Good luck with all your NBA betting. Enjoy the games and Happy Holidays!
